My two oldest munchkins have finally finished their lapbooks on goats.  We have goats so it was neat to see this lapbook on the homeschooshare website.  Firstborn actually finished the whole lapbook but, when it came to milking procedure’s and the nutrition content of goat milk, Daredevil just wasn’t interested.  So Daredevil did not finish everything.  We used this topic as a science filler in school so it’s been on the backburner many times.  Now that it is finished the boys really loved adding it to their growing library of lapbooks.

“Daredevil” is showing off his Ancient Greece lapbook recently completed.  He and “Firstborn” worked on these after completing the chapters on Greece in the “Story of the World” by Susan Wise Bauer homeschool text. In addition to this book they each read a book on Ancient Greece.  One child read the scholastic book “Growing Up In Ancient Greece” by Chris Chelepi and the other read “The Best Book of Ancient Greece” by Belinda Weber.  One of our nightly reading books I read to the kids was “The Adventures of Ulysses” by Bernard Evslin.  Now they are both working on a one page research paper about Greece using their lapbooks as an aid in the topics they want to cover and the Encyclopedia (real one off the shelf not virtual) to take notes out of.  We will be well saturated with Ancient Greece when we wrap this up.

Here is a Lapbook completed by “Hoop”.  This one is on the North American Forest Habitat.  It is really a bunch of lapbooks put together. I went to and downloaded the files for all the things I wanted to cover for the Forest Habitat.  In his Lapbook we covered Song Birds, Trees, Eagles, Squirrels, Earthworms and Nocturnal Animals.  I supplemented the information provided in these lapbook files with any book we had on the subject.  I also got some clipart off the internet to add.  He is very proud of  his first completed lapbook and the fact that it has soooo many folding pages.
